Iruvar was screened at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah, on Saturday, December 16 at 2:00 pm as part of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF)
In Iruvar, the highly versatile actor takes on a role close to his heart as a struggling actor who is befriended by up and coming working class leader and scriptwriter Tamilchelvam, played by Prakash Raj. As Anandam grows in popularity he becomes an important tool for Tamilchelvam and his party for attracting members. After the death of the party leader, both friends find themselves in candidacy for the top spot, and their relationship is sorely tested.
