Mohanlal to play a retired Army officer

Mohanlal, the brand ambassador of Territorial Army (TA), never misses an opportunity to express his patriotism, both in reel and real life. Buzz is that he will play a retired Army officer next. The racy thriller titled Memory Card will be directed by P Anil and scripted by debutant Sunil.

If the makers are to be believed, except for Mohanlal's role, the film has nothing to do with the armed forces. The director tells us that the thriller will be shot against the backdrop of Hyderabad and revolves around a high-profile investigation.

"In the movie, Mohanlal plays Ramesh Narayan, a retired Army officer, who owns a security systems company in Hyderabad. He is on a mission to prove that certain allegations against him are wrong. His pursuits form the rest of the plot," says Anil. Apparently, the movie unfolds in a span of three days.

Though Mohanlal has been confirmed for the project, the team is yet to finalise the shooting schedule. "Apart from Mohanlal, we have not finalised the other cast," says the director. Incidentally, the film is a comeback of sorts for the director, who has helmed action films in the past like Douthyam, Adiverukal, and Suryagayathri with Mohanlal in the lead.
