Mohanlal will start the shoot of his new film Shikar- The Hunt from April 14.
The film is directed by M Padmakumar, a former assistant of writer director Ranjith and has done good films like Ammakilikoodu, Vargam, Vaasthavam. Padmakumar and writer Suresh Babu have been able to impress Mohanlal with their Shikar script and the way the film unfolds. It is a deadly revenge story with Mohanlal playing a lorry driver Balaraman and Ananya (Tamil Nadodigal fame) as his daughter.
Lakshmi Gopalasamy will play an important role along with Jagathy and Suraj Venjaranmoodu. A search is still on for a girl to play the heroine.
The film will be shot by ace cameraman Manoj Pillai in the hilly regions of Adimali, Idukki, coastal Thuthukudi and Hyderabad.
